Apparently a whooping 78% of you will fail your new year's resolutions. So are you ready to be in the 22% category?

YES?!

Then make a plan for 'THE PLAN'! So taking a wild guess your plan is your going to lose weight, get fit and eat better and you know how to do this – eat a well balanced diet full of nutritional value, cut the junk, avoid alcohol and exercise blah blah blah. So presuming you already know all of this then how is any of that going to help you succeed if it's never helped you achieve before....well not permanently anyway?! It's simply not is it? Neither is that diet where you'll lose 10 stone in a week (OK so maybe I'm being ever so slightly sarcastic but you know what I'm saying) or those daft electric shock pads or any other gimmicks. You need to plan for 'The Plan' and take baby steps and make realistic goals.

So start by being 100% honest with yourself and think about where your going to struggle. Are you going to struggle when the kids have been doing your nut in all day and they go to bed and you just want that big fat juicy glass of wine? No? What about when comes to making that cuppa or coffee and you want to add that spoonful of sugar or more? No? OK so what about when you go to a friends house and they offer you a biscuit and you say “No thanks” and they say “go on one won't hurt”, then later “go on have another?”. The list is endless and people are always mean when your trying to lose weight and WILL try and temp you with delicious looking junk (don't you just love them, husbands do this too).

So firstly work out all your weaknesses and make a plan for these. Are you going to simply be strong and say no? Yes you are? Great!.... now seriously you've fallen of the wagon so now what? Exactly what you've said to your child if they don't succeed first time. Start again! Don't quit in January and say I've failed and laugh about it! Simply succeed, it doesn't matter if it takes till December surely that's better than never? Keep starting again till it's a lifestyle change, it really is that simple.

Start with baby steps. So choose the area's you'll combat first. So that could be cutting down on fizzy drinks or bread and once it's a habit then start combating something else. Real results are permanent and don't happen over night but when you get there (AND YOU WILL) your going to feel really proud of yourself!

So start with a list of what to combat and start there, be specific not just weight-loss!

Good luck!

P.S you know that friend that's working really hard to lose weight? Make sure you tell them as soon as you start to notice this (don't say if it they haven't actually lost weight – we know when we haven't and hate to be lied too) but if they have Compliment them! Women need complimenting by other women. It feels great when your best friend or someone you barely knows tell you how well your looking and really is very motivating and a confidence booster. Always support these women, you just never know you might make their day.
